Scottish Documentary Institute, established in 2004, is the only organisation in Scotland dedicated to spotting and nurturing documentary talent, and getting their films seen in the UK and around the world.  Since SDI was established we have developed the careers of more than 600 filmmakers - who represent all dimensions of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities and beliefs - and shown their films in more than 90 countries.   Our outlook is international and we have a global following of 30,000 supporters, but are proud to call Scotland our home.  We are soon launching a campaign to grow the number of women's documentaries made and seen in Scotland. 50% of Scotland's documentaries should be made by women, but there is work to be done to get there!  If you would like to be a part of this movement please get in touch!
