Edinburgh can get a bit crazy over the summer so First Fridays and events take a summer break. However there's no break for our hard-working president Kate Bell.
Kate took an early start on 3rd of August to travel to Dundee to attend the Association of Scottish Business Women ASB EGM at Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce. Being part of EBC means that all our members automatically come under the umbrella of ASB too - bonus! This means that we have a great network of business women across Scotland with whom we can communicate.
Here's Kate enjoying the sun which came out for this fabulous pic with Oor Rabbie Wullie! She had a great day getting motivated to bring us more ideas for taking EBC forward.....watch this space!
Please get in touch if you'd like to become a member.
July saw our members' lunch at the enchanting Crowne Plaza Terrace Restaurant, on Royal Terrace. June Walker from the Scottish Chambers of Commerce joined us to share the fantastic mentoring opportunities offered by the "Future Female Business Leaders" programme.
A lot of engaging business conversations along with a delightful meal!
We had a great 3 course meal, coffee and exchange of ideas and business challenges around the table.
June gave us some valuable insights into the mentoring programme of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and as well as helping to find a mentor a few of our members even offered to be a mentor....we're all about the exchange of values here at EBC.
June also helped us come to the conclusion that we are all mentors and mentees without even realising sometimes! And that is very much in line with the ethos of EBC...to get inspired, get involved and get connected.
We also received some lovely goody bags from Crowne Plaza and had a tour of their fabulous hotel....did you you know you can see the Firth of Forth from their windows?!
Let us know if you'd like to become a member and join us for more fantastic events!
The end of June saw one of our regular training events for members only.
We certainly heard how investing in our health is our biggest investment and how we can start making some changes now!
A huge thanks to Dr Alanna Jarrott and her assistant Jenny from Optimal Health Chiropractic for their very interesting and thought provoking presentation.
We take our cars in for checks and MOTs but do we think about that for our bodies, health and well-being? Definitely worth thinking about!
Thank you to all who attended
We will all be sitting better now and keeping our iPhones and iPads at eye-level!
Please note our training events are for members only. If you'd like any more information on how to become a member please send us a message or ask any of our committee - we're here to help YOU.
A fantastic First Friday networking session at The Dome in June!
Gosh, we covered lots of topics!! Such a variety of great businesses and lots of follow-up chats arranged. It's great to see women in business exchanging ideas and motivating each other.
Thank you all for coming along and have a wonderful weekend!
Remember, this is our only event open to non-members. You can always come a long as a guest to First Friday and see how we do things...you're guaranteed a warm welcome and some amazing business insights.
A wonderful Afternoon Tea this afternoon with The Teapot Trust. Caitlin told us about the trust and its work in providing Art Therapy to children and their families living with long term conditions. The EBC is supporting this charity this year. Huge thanks to the Staff at The Bonham for their kindness and support and for a most delicious Afternoon Tea!
A super Edinburgh Businesswomen's Club AGM with thanks to all the members who attended and participated in the conversation! We said a huge thank you to Caroline Sanderson for her service as Treasurer and Erin Gilmour for her service as President who stepped down. We are delighted to welcome our new Club President, Kate Bell. The new Committee is Diane Roe (Treasurer), Amy Reilly (Membership Secretary) and Paula Allan. We look forward to working with all the Members in the forthcoming year.
Great conversations and connections being made today at First Friday at The Dome. Such diverse businesses being led by amazing women!
A wonderful diverse group at The Dome for First Friday today! Great conversations and ideas. Cold outside but warm and cosy inside!
