A Guide to Self Assessment Tax
The new tax year starts in April and if you run your own business you may be wondering what you need to do.
What financial records should you keep?
When do you need to submit your tax return?
What business expenses can you claim?
If you would like to know the answers to these questions then this training session will help you. It is aimed particularly at people who have recently started a business or are planning to become self-employed in the future.
The session will be delivered by Caroline Sanderson and areas covered will include:
- registering with HM Revenue & Customs for self-assessment
- what financial records you need to keep and for how long
- what needs to be included in your tax return
- tax and national insurance for the self-employed
- tax return deadlines and payment dates
At the end of this session, you will have information to help you plan ahead and meet your obligations to HMRC.
Caroline is an Associate of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and has been running her own licensed bookkeeping practice since 2015.
